Description
The Heritage Train chronicles a railway restoration project by the Canterbury Railway Society, Christchurch, New Zealand.
The booklet describes the restoration of a set of 19th century rolling stock, including locomotive D140, cariages D26 and A516, car-van B231, wagon LB4803 and 4-wheeled guards vans F78 and F79.
The booklet was written around 2004, when much of the stock was being restored, but the complete train can now be seen running on the Society’s rails, along with other 19th century carriages, wagons and locomotives that have been restored since the book was written.
