This Fridge Magnet depicts steam locomotive D140, from a painting by well-known artist Paul Johnson of Christchurch New Zealand.
NZR D class steam tank locomotives operated on New Zealand’s national railway network. The first entered service in 1874 and all had been withdrawn by the end of 1927. Many lived on with private operators with seven surviving into preservation.
D140 is owned and operated by Canterbury Railway Society at Ferrymead Heritage Park in Christchurch New Zealand.
